不积跬步，无以至千里；不积小流，无以成江海，骐骥一跃，不能十步；驽马十驾，功在不舍，锲而舍之，朽木不折；锲而不舍，金石可镂。
荀子强调积累，不迈出小小的半步就走不了千里路，不从小水流开始汇集就成不了大江大海。再好的马只跑一步，也比不上资质不好的马努力地跑。不注重积累，哪怕朽木头也折不断，坚持不懈地做，金石也能镂空。后天的积累能弥补先天的不足，要成功，就得做苦行的功夫！
