【原文】宰予昼寝。子曰：“朽木不可雕也，粪土之墙不可圬也，于予与何诛?”【译文】宰予白天睡觉。孔子说：“真像腐朽的木头一样无法再雕琢，像粪墙一样不能再粉刷了，对于宰予这个人，我还责备他什么呢?”孔子又说：“开始时我对于人，是听了他的话就相信他的行为；现在我对于人，是听了他的话，还要观察他的行为。宰予使我改变了观察人的方法。”
