对圣贤的道理教导别人很容易，自己实践却是不容易的事。对圣贤的道理开始奋斗很容易，但坚持到底却很难。圣贤的道理与实践相结合，行仁政必本与德性。后代则相反，学问与实践不能统一，不修持自己的德性，而只管治理别人。
