译文：一句话说得不对，就能招致大祸，所以古人就知道守口如瓶，谨言慎行，就是害怕遭受杀身之祸；行为不检点，有失分寸，就能毁坏名节，所以古人就知道守身如玉，端正行为，就是害怕品行有污点瑕疵。赏析：口不择言，祸就会从口出，轻则得罪他人，重则招致杀身之祸。逢人且说三分话，未可全抛一片心。一个人在说任何话做任何事之前，必须要考虑后果。
