“礼治”是荀子的重要思想，荀子认为“礼”之起源，是为了保持物质和人欲的平衡。欲望，是人生来就有的，满足欲望是人的本性。但是人人都依自己的愿望行事的话，可想而知世界就会混乱不堪，而且外物有限，不能想要多少就要多少。所以需要制定“礼”来规范人们的行为，合理引导欲望。荀子认为“礼者，养也”，“礼”并非是刻意压制人的欲望，而是合理满足人的欲望，以及合理分配物质，使社会相对稳定。

创新的关键不仅在于跳出框框思考，而是要意识到框框本身就是一个幻觉。
