书籍是我们与逝者沟通的方式。是我们从那些不再与我们同在的人那里学习教训的方式，人类以此为基础，取得进步，使知识逐渐积累，而不是一次又一次地重新学习。

出自先秦《荀子·非相》。察看一个人的外貌，不如用心体察他的心理；体察他的心理，不如考察他做事的方法。说明对人的考察应当重视其内心与做事的方法，而不应该停留在外表的体貌特征上。
